Job Title: Cover Supervisor

Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire

Employment Type: Full Time and Part time opportunities available.

Key Stages: KS3 & KS4

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for education and a desire to make a difference in young people's lives? Do you have experience working within schools and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment? If so, we invite you to join our team as a Cover Supervisor in a couple of schools within Shropshire 

Key Responsibilities…

1. Supervision and Classroom Management: Provide cover supervision for absent teachers, ensuring the continuity of learning and maintaining a positive and orderly classroom environment for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students.

2. Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and materials across a range of subjects, following the guidance provided by teaching staff, to facilitate student learning in the absence of the regular teacher.

3. Behaviour Management: Manage student behaviour effectively, applying the school's behaviour policies and procedures consistently to promote a safe and respectful learning environment.

4. Support and Assistance: Offer support and assistance to students as needed, answering questions, providing guidance, and facilitating learning activities to promote student engagement and understanding.

5. Administrative Duties: Assist with administrative tasks, such as taking registers, distributing and collecting work, and ensuring the smooth running of the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher.

6. Communication: Maintain clear and professional communication with teaching staff, support staff, and students, relaying relevant information and feedback to ensure continuity and coherence in the learning process.

7. Flexibility: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding to the varying needs and requirements of different subjects and classes, ensuring the effective delivery of cover supervision across the school.

Qualifications...

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

- Experience working within educational settings, such as schools or educational support roles.

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously.

- Resilience and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
